Group exercise classes are a motivational alternative to exercising alone. A variety of classes are offered at Windom Area Health & Fitness (see class descriptions below).
Just in time for summer…
Lake Yoga: Start your day off with Vinyasa Flow Yoga at Cottonwood Lake! Vinyasa Flow is a series of yoga postures sequenced together in a flowing manner. Attention is focused on linking the breath to the body’s movements. This class is appropriate for students who are comfortable with a moderate level of exercise. It is not recommended for beginning exercisers or individuals with injuries. Check out the monthly Fitness Center schedule by clicking here to find class dates in June, July and August. Call 831-0672 for questions or to register for the class. Cost is free for Fitness Center members and $5 per class for none.
Silver-row class, recommended for ages 55 and older, is designed for those intimated by other exercise classes, and want to participate in the newest fitness craze. Each class is 30 minutes and will incorporate some strength training. Come get a total body workout! This class is limited to 9 rowers. Sign-up today and get 8 classes for only $45. Join the newest fitness craze! Fit-row classes are 30 minutes in length and work your total body; legs, core, arms and back. Rotations of rowing and circuits make up this low impact class. This class is limited to 9 rowers and runs for a 6 week session. Additional charges apply: $60 for members, $72 for non-members. Morning and evening sessions offered.
This will be a flowing, fast pace class that will include a variety of poses and techniques. This class is recommended for individuals who are currently exercising at a moderate to high level. Classes will be offered on Wednesdays at 5:30p. Please check calendar @ TWC for dates. Class size is limited to 10 people. Must sign up ahead of time due to limited availability.

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie burning dance fitness-party that’s moving millions of people toward health joy and health.
Due to heavy participation, we are only able to allow 14 people to attend each class. Sign-up for each class is required PRIOR to attending. Thank you for your understanding as we try to provide the best experience for all of our members.
SilverSneakers® Muscular Strength and Range of Movement:
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
Body Stretch and Strengthening:
A variety of methods will be used, including, but not limited to: TRX Suspension Trainer®, resistance bands, stability balls, dumbbells and barbells. The class is taught by a Fitour® Certified instructor who has participated in bodybuilding competitions.

Members have access to Windom Area Health & Fitness via a keycard from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Staff available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday (except on Holidays).
Staff available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday (except on Holidays).
Insurance Program Discounts
Windom Area Health & Fitness has partnered most insurance companies to offer wellness discounts to eligible members. Please contact your insurance company directly to see if your plan is eligible for a fitness discount. Windom Area Health & Fitness staff is also available to help you Monday through Friday.
Windom Area Health & Fitness Membership Information
Windom Area Health & Fitness at Windom Area Hospital offers a variety of membership opportunities including individual and family memberships, monthly and daily passes, 10 session punch cards, and specialty classes.
Members must be 12 years of age. Memberships may be sold to dependents with a physician’s order for medical conditions, therapeutic needs or a predisposition for obesity. However, these memberships will be given at the discretion of the Manager.
Windom Area Health & Fitness recommends that all members consult with their personal physician before beginning an exercise program.

Windom Area Health & Fitness Services
Windom Area Health & Fitness (WAHF) at the Windom Area Hospital offers a variety of services to meet the needs of our members.
Fitness Specialist: The fitness center is supervised by a trained fitness specialist to assist all members with their workout. Please ask for assistance if needed.
Fitness Assessments: Fitness assessments are available to members by appointment only. Assessments include benchmark testing followed by designing a workout routine to meet your fitness goals. The benchmark testing includes blood pressure, height, weight and body composition analysis. Our Fitness Specialists will then assist members in creating a workout designed to meet individualized needs.
Equipment: High-quality fitness equipment is available at WAHF for member’s use, including EFX Elliptical Fitness cross trainers, treadmills, upright and recumbent bikes, stair climber, two Nu-Step® steppers, hand weights, multi-functional weight machine targeting major muscle groups, exercise balls and bands.
